Al Furjan, meaning “small village” in Arabic, is a villa community project developed by Nakheel. The territory houses apartments, townhouses, villas, and hotels. For cycling enthusiasts, this neighborhood is like heaven on earth. You can go for a ride on the designated cycling routes that will take you through the districts of Al Furjan, Discovery Gardens, and Garden View Villas. The area is known to be the perfect spot for families with children due to its wide range of specific amenities such as schools, medical facilities, parks, and pools. 

Where is Al Furjan located?

Al Furjan is nestled between Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and is surrounded by Discovery Gardens. Though not close to the main areas of Dubai, it should take no more than 20-25 min to get to most points of interest. The area covers 560 hectares while the parks and walkways cover more than a quarter of the whole project.

In the center of the Al Furjan district, you can find Masakin Al Furjan. This is a kind of community center with a leisure club (with a gym and a pool), a cafe, and a supermarket. What about transport and parking in Al Furjan?

Al Furjan is not the most ideal area if public transport is your thing. The area doesn’t have any metro stations and bus lines are scarce. However, for Expo 2020 a new metro station will be built that lies parallel to the Al Furjan territory, making it much easier to get to the metro. It will also add value to the properties located in the area. For car owners, Al Furjan is a comfortable district. Every apartment comes with one covered parking space (usually in the basement of the building) while there is also ample parking for visitors and guests. Villas usually have 2 or more parking booths.
