Downtown Dubai, also often referred to as just “Downtown’, is one of the most recognizable districts in Dubai due to its many famous landmarks. Downtown is home to some of the world’s biggest, such as the Burj Khalifa (tallest building), the Dubai Mall (the largest mall) and the Dancing Fountains (largest fountains). Besides that, it has become the benchmark of luxury amenities and lifestyle. The area has been around for some time but there are still new projects available in Downtown Dubai especially in the latest addition to the area, the Dubai Opera district. The area goes by the slogan “the center of now”.
The area is located between Sheikh Zayed Road (SZR) and Al Khail Road while it only takes 15-20 minutes to get to the nearest beach. Downtown can be considered the center of Dubai and therefore every other district can be easily reached.

There is a huge range of different apartments available in Downtown, varying in both design and style. Here you can find an interesting mix of high-rise towers and low-rise townhouses and villas. The towers come with studios, 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom apartments while the latest additions to the supply are also blessed with 5-bedroom apartments. The townhouses and villas are located in the Old Town of Downtown, which is a pedestrian-friendly area that is extremely suitable for families with children. Here you can also find a collection of gardens and swimming pools for communal use.
It is quite convenient to get around by public transport in Downtown. There are several bus lines, a metro station, and the first hydrogen-powered trolley in the world. Furthermore, this area is pedestrian-friendly, allowing residents to go from one place to another on foot. Practically all apartments in Downtown come with their own parking spaces and for guests, there are paid parking spots spread around the territory. There is also a huge paid parking garage under Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.

When it comes to shopping, there is no better place to visit than the Dubai Mall. However, there are many more shops in the area that cater to the luxury segment. Medical services, as well as nurseries, are widely available. However, the number of schools is limited in the area so when you have a family, or thinking about starting one, do your research.
